Fly Me to the Moon (Yoko Takahashi Acid Bossa Version)
Track #1 from the album Neon Genesis Evangelion ED
Main Author's Notes
Since a while back I wanted to make one Fly Me to the Moon from Evangelion's versions repertoire, I gotta say that the execution was brilliant since they took an already great song and made it even greater and took it to amazing heights, I think they probably have most of the coolest versions of this song, I always visualized and thought of this song as being orchestra-based, at least the first one from Claire it is, but I was honestly surprised once I started researching and listening closely on them to find out that even that first one and most of them have just the right amount of instrumentality (no pun intended) to be adapted on RB format. So this time I picked this Acid Bossa one sung by Yoko Takahashi's beautiful voice and that is one of my favorite versions used across the anime, it also has a good balance on the instruments and another important thing was that this one is also one of the few that have a longer version which I see a better fit for this format, I also felt the urge to make the original one, because it is never enough to have one single Fly Me to the Moon, but that's a story for another time. Regarding the song itself, not much that I can say that it's already known, for me it would probably be the best and most romantic love song ever written in history but depending on taste, at the very least, I guess it should in the top 5 of greatest love songs of all time, period, hope you enjoy.
